EI regional office in Asia-Pacific has published its latest newsletter. It reviews the adoption of the EI Education Policy Paper at EI 6th World Congress. And it addresses the required education of union leaders in Asia-Pacific about this document, to guarantee education as a human right and a public good.
The newsletter outlines the success achieved by educators in Kyrgyzstan, who won a 70 - 100% increase in salaries following the successful lobbying by an EI affiliate, the Trade Union of Education and Scientific Workers of Kyrgyzstan (TUESWK). “The EI/Consortium programme has helped us become successful,” said TUESWK President and member of the EIAP Regional Committee Asylbek Toktogulov. “The impact of the programme is immense and should be shared.”
It also reports on a seminar on Minority Rights held in India, and another one on Promoting Dialogue and Understanding, held in Nepal.
