Even as the Global Monitoring Report prepares to launch this year’s Education For All results in April, it is already looking beyond to 2016 and how education lines up beside the next Sustainable Development Goals.
Barely three weeks into the New Year and UNESCO’s Education For All (EFA) Global Monitoring Report (GMR) is wasting little time in planning for next round of Sustainable Development Goals, to be chosen this September, with a focus on how education is set to interrelate with major development sectors.
The first GMR publication in 2016 is set to release a series of reports featuring education within the context of the post 2015 development agenda. The GMR wants to take a close look at how education links to economic, social, environmental, and political priorities of the next global agenda.
The GMR is working to create a new monitoring framework for education, focused on financing and governance challenges. In order to help establish the framework, the GMR’s public consultation process, which seeks input from education professionals, practitioners and the general public, remains open until the 28 January.
