(1) It was agreed upon by all the governments in the world in September 2015 at the United Nations General Assembly that 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) be implemented, achieved, monitored and evaluated by the end of 2030;

(2) Whereas the teachers, educators and other educational support personnel strive to achieve Goal 4 to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all;

(3) In view of this, qualified, trained teachers of different subjects play a crucial role in moulding children for global citizens;

(4) Therefore, be it resolved that targets 4b and 4c of the SDGs be given attention and priorities established for the enrolment of students and teachers in higher education including technical vocational training and Information and Communication Technology.

(5) To achieve and ensure free equitable quality education and to foster a multilingual and multicultural global community, which would help maintain a balance between nations, a holistic approach must be taken, offering opportunities for the promising, outstanding students and teachers of high pedagogy, who excel in different disciplines, to experience new learning environments abroad for a period in education institutions, so that they would become catalysts, transforming our world by 2030, by acquiring and sharing the knowledge, attitudes, skills and good ideas from developed nations.

(6) Where any initiative is taken to implement such a scheme, it would certainly boost the image of Education International as the largest teacher organisation in the world and set an example for other organisations which are involved in the field of education.
