A new report that combines four national studies on refugee education reveals shortcomings that need to be overcome in order to ensure the inclusion and integration of newcomers in Europe.

"Education: Hope for Newcomers in Europe”, which includes in-depth research on refugee education in Germany, Italy, Spain, and Sweden, is available as from today under the following link: http://go.ei-ie.org/HopeForNewcomers

The study analyses different national education systems in regards the integration of newcomers, refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, in the context of the increased population movements that have taken place over the last years. It particularly focuses on education unions' efforts to cope with the new situation, and the proposals they forward to stakeholders and policy makers from the experiences in schools and classrooms.
