World Teachers’ Day: 24-hour celebration around the world kicks off in Asia Pacific

On October 5th, Education International is hosting the largest-ever online meeting of teachers. Marking World Teachers’ Day 2020, the event celebrates educators’ commitment and leadership during the COVID-19 crisis.

After a year marred by disruption and crises, teachers are taking the lead to effect real change in their classrooms, communities, andaround the world. The 24-hour webcast hosted by Education International brings together teachers from across the world and includes programming on every continent.

Teachers, world leaders, scientists, artists and more

The webcast features the stories of teachers from different countries and contexts. They will share their experiences of teaching and supporting their students through this global pandemic.

An international cast of speakers– presidents, prime ministers, education leaders, artists, and many more - will join teachers to discuss the key learnings from COVID-19 and waysto address the fundamental issues of a world living through a pandemic.
