On the Move for Equality in Algeria
Meetings on promoting women’s participation and gender equality in education unions were held in early August with two EI affiliates in Algeria: the Syndicat national autonome des professeurs de l’enseignement secondaire et technique and the Union national des travailleurs de l’éducation et de la formation. Female union representatives, including some national and regional leaders, also identified persistent barriers to women’s full participation within their unions and outlined the capacity development needed for the unions to make lasting progress on gender equality and women’s participation. EI was represented by madeleine kennedy-macfoy.
