On World Teachers’ Day, Education International celebrated the raffle of its first world-wide photo action. The awards have gone out to Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Ghana.

The contest, which ran for two-and-a-half months, has received over 50 contributions from 30 countries. Most of the pictures show teaching and learning in action, as it is experienced daily by more than 60 million teachers and their students worldwide: from high-tech IT lessons to early childhood art, dancing around trees in countryside primary schools to sharing a class with students of different ages and backgrounds, the photos revealed the realities of education around the world.

A selection of the pictures will be shown at Education International’s congress in Ottawa next year.
