EI has launched a dedicated blog-style website as a new anchor point for its flagship magazine, Worlds of Education. Making maximal use of the internet for the magazine will better serve the needs of our readers and enable to distribute EI’s views more widely and easily.
The attraction and retention of trade union members in Gambia and boosting teacher status in France are just two articles in the new online edition of EI’s magazine, Worlds of Education.
Issue 41 is packed full of articles reporting on how EI and its affiliates are advocating for a strong teaching profession worldwide. There is also a special focus on higher education and its promotion as a free quality public service for all.
The magazine features articles on EI’s strategy to enhance public recognition of the central role of teachers and their trade union organisations. This role is critical in both helping to increase education quality and counter the effects of the economic crisis on education across the globe.
Reform, fees, freedom … and moreIssue 41 also reports on the challenges of reforming teaching education in Indonesia, as well as prioritising quality early childhood education globally.
This edition also reviews the issue of increasing tuition fees in many places including the UK and Québec, a move that jeopardises the equity of access to higher education.
Readers can also learn more about performance management in New Zealand’s universities, the dilemma of evaluation, and the crackdown on critical thinking and academic freedom in Colombia.
