The July issue of EI’s flagship magazine, Worlds of Education, is packed full of articles that will be explored at EI’s sixth World Congress which takes place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 22-26 July .
The magazine features articles on EI’s draft Education Policy Paper which delegates will debate at the Congress; information about Congress breakout sessions; interviews with the two recipients of EI’s Congress Awards for achievements in education, and in human and trade union rights.
The July issue also reviews educational challenges and developments in South Africa. From the use of cell phone technology for reading to information about the Equal Education project, for which EI is encouraging all Congress participants to ‘bring a book’ to Cape Town to help establish a library in a country where 70 per cent of children do not have access to a school library.
The Congress edition also reports on the World Bank’s new Education Strategy 2020; highlights the successful development co-operation and union capacity building projects in Burundi, Mali, and Moldova.
Readers can also learn more about participating in World Teachers’ Day 2011, and how to share ideas for activities to bring human rights to children.
