The United Nations Girls' Education Initiative (UNGEI) was launched in April 2000 at the World Education Forum in Dakar by United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Each month UNGEI publishes a newsletter called ‘Girls Too!’
The goal of UNGEI is to narrow the gender gap in primary and secondary education and to ensure that by 2015, all children complete primary schooling, with girls and boys having equal access to all levels of education.
‘Girls Too!’ is a newsletter which features articles on the progress being made to achieve this goal taking in major initiatives, events, partner profiles and resources related to girls' education. The latest edition focuses on education in Uganda. To sign up for the newsletter, click here: http://www.ungei.org/listserve/index_61.html
